Menswear Pays Tribute to the History of Art in Florence
October 6, 2016
Some of you who follow fashion shows may know Florence, Italy, from Pitti Uomo. Others of you may be acquainted with Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance.
As for me, I will never forget my first visit to Florence; I must have been about 17 years old when I toured the city and visited the Uffizi Museum, one of the oldest and most famous art museums in the world.
For this autumn/winter season, Italian designer Stefano Ricci pays homage to the Uffizi Museum as he turns to life over a dozen oil masterpieces. Although Stefano nearly duplicates the portraits in look and feel, he brilliantly recreates the fashion of each portrait for the modern-day man as seen in the photo above.
In addition to the emerging designers featured in this eNewsletter, definitely check out the latest collections of Ben Sherman, in which Mod Meets Rocker, and the urban sportswear of Lacoste.
